Jim Preston owns Walnut Ridge Kennels, Located in Bangor, Michigan, just west of Kalamazoo. Jim has owned Beagles and hunted for over 50 years, and in 1990, started trialing Beagles in multiple formats. He has started NKC ARHA Beagle clubs and has served as Secretary, Treasurer, Master of Hounds, Breed Inspector, Field and Bench judge. He is the first and only dog in Michigan that has won the Michigan HOY in all three divisions – Open (2009), Champion (2011), and Grand Champion he won HOY twice, in 2012 and 2016. As a Champion, Check was 5th at the World hunt in 2010. As a Grand Champion, he came in 3rd at the World hunt in 2012. As a Grand Champion, Check won the Illinois State hunt in 2012. Was 4th in the Ohio state hunt, 4th in the Grand Nationals. He is a check dog supreme and puts a chop mouth in his pups. He has been lightly bred until a year ago and his offspring are showing allot of promise. He is the sire of Walnut Ridge Farms Snake, the winner of the open class in the 2016 Michigan HOY. He is the sire of Walnut Ridge Farms Little Eve who won the 2010 Michigan State run-off and needs one more win in the Champion class to be a dual Grand Champion. Check’s sire is Rose City Cash who is out of Holdsworth’s Magnum Force. Check has two pups that have been successful as well – LPGRRCH Walnut Ridge Farms Slim, and LPRCH Walnut Ridge Farms Sadie.
