By joining the CTBC, you are financing the future of CTBC and its awards programs and offerings and you are eligible to vote on the club’s future!
CTBC is offering a Hound of the Year race for 2018 specific to our club – thus, if you are a member before the end of this year, your dogs are eligible to participate for the 2018 season. Awards and rules will be posted here soon.
In addition, points earned at CTBC trials are also tallied for Michigan Hound of the Year race and ARHA Hound of the Year race.
Field Trial Dates ($20/per dog/per day for field entry, $5/per dog for bench entries):
December 9, 2017, Saturday
January 6, 2018, Saturday
February 3, 2018, Saturday
March 4, 2018, Sunday
Trial Awards: CTBC offers trophies to 5th place in Opens (dogs that have never won before) with medallions to 10th place. Trophy for 1st in Champs (dogs that have won once and have 100 points) and Grands (dogs that have champed and earned 5 more wins after that – see ARHA LITTLE PACK RULES) and medallions to 3rd in Champs and Grands.
In addition, if we have participation, we will hold a Bench Show that promotes correct conformation in field dogs (see our BREED page), and award a trophy to Best In Show, Best Puppy, Best Female, Best Male, with medallions to second place Puppy, second place Female, second place Male.
We encourage our youth under 16 years old as of the 1st of the year of the trial to handle their own dogs in the field, and will award a Youth Handler coin to those kids that actually handle their own dog in the field with minimal help from an adult. In addition, the Youth Handler that has the dog with the highest points in a single cast will go home with a blue 1st place leash! At the end of the 2018 year, there will be a Youth Event where the coins can be turned in for useable items.
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to participate in the newest Little Pack Club.
